Jan HOW SHE GOT HERE
After raising five children while living just south of Boston, Jan and her husband moved to Western Massachusetts, purchased their first pony, and bought a farm. She holds an associate’s degree in veterinary technology and she joined the Windy Hollow team in 2007.

WHAT MAKES HER INTERESTING
“While working in a veterinary office, I attended Holyoke Community College to earn my associate’s degree in veterinary technology and I graduated first in my class.”

WHY SHE LOVES HER JOB
Jan has always loved animals and is interested in people.

WHAT SHE DOES IN HER SPARE TIME
Jan enjoys writing, reading, quilting, and knitting. She shares her farm with her husband, two Chincoteague ponies (Hoochie Coochie Man and Sunshine of Your Love), a briard (Indy), two barn cats (Midnight and Dragonfly), and several chickens.

OF NOTE
All of Jan's ponies and her late PMU appaloosa have been named after Eric Clapton songs.
Lead Receptionist
Rachel Rachel has been working in veterinary medicine for five and a half years and has been part of the Windy Hollow Veterinary Clinic team for most of that time, with a brief break in between. Her love of animals began at an early age, growing up surrounded by creatures both big and small. Over the years, that love has grown into a deep appreciation for the unique bond between animals and the people who care for them.

One of Rachel's favorite parts of her job is witnessing that human-animal bond every day. She has a particular interest in animal behavior and enjoys helping clients better understand their pets and the ways they communicate. As Customer Relations Supervisor, she brings that understanding into her work by helping create positive experiences for both pets and their families.

Rachel earned her bachelor's degree in Animal Behavior from UMass. Her education and passion for understanding animals give her a unique perspective when working with clients and helping them navigate the many different personalities and needs of their pets.

At home, Rachel shares her life with Jinx, a clever Collie mix who has some impressive skills of her own. Jinx knows how to turn lights on and off and was even trained to help locate bats as part of a research project! If Rachel could have any animal as a pet, she says she'd choose a dragon, although her favorite animal is actually the bonobo.

Outside of the clinic, Rachel enjoys reading, stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, and cooking. Her ideal day off would involve paddleboarding, followed by a nice hike with Jinx and her boyfriend, then relaxing at home while cooking dinner and settling in with a good book. One fun fact about Rachel? Despite appearances, she is not naturally a redhead!

What Rachel loves most about working at Windy Hollow Veterinary Clinic is knowing that the people around her are always there to support her—and always ready for a good laugh. She hopes every client knows that the entire team has a true passion for helping both animals and the people who love them. At Windy Hollow, compassion extends beyond the patient to the whole family.

Her advice to pet owners is a reminder that communication goes both ways:

"Listen and learn from your animals as much as they listen and learn from you."
Customer Relations Supervisor
Tracey HOW SHE GOT HERE
Tracey grew up in Western Mass and has called it home while raising her two children and many pets over the years. She holds and Associate’ Degree in Office and Business and brings with her over 40 years of customer service experience, the last 6 in the veterinary field.

WHAT MAKES HER INTERESTING
Tracey loves to read, especially mystery novels. She could get comfortably lost in a good book.

WHY SHE LOVES HER JOB SO MUCH
Tracey loves being kind to people and helping others, especially those with furry friends. As a loving devoted pet owner herself, she has the experience on both sides of the desk during stressful times. This helps give her more understanding and compassion to help her clients as well as their fur babies.

WHAT SHE DOES IN HER SPARE TIME
Tracey enjoys reading, walking, thrifting and spending time with her kids, which includes her one-eyed orange kitty Leela-Lou, who provides hours of non-stop entertainment in the household.
Receptionist
Sara Sara joined the Windy Hollow Veterinary Clinic team in January 2026 and has quickly discovered a new passion for veterinary medicine. After spending years working in the human medical field, including experience as a surgical assistant, she decided to explore a career working with animals. She now enjoys learning as much as she can about animal medicine while bringing her previous healthcare and client service experience to her role as a Customer Service Associate.

One of Sara's favorite parts of her job is helping clients and their pets while also welcoming new families to Windy Hollow. She enjoys the opportunity to learn something new every day and appreciates being part of a profession where there is always more to discover. Her background includes an Associate's Degree in Office Administration, as well as her previous experience working in human medicine, which helps her bring both organization and compassion to the front desk.

At home, Sara shares her life with Ruby, her six-and-a-half-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever who has a particular weakness for cheese! It's no surprise that dogs are Sara's favorite animal, and if she could add anything to her household, she says she would happily choose an entire litter of puppies.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys reading, kayaking, making earrings, and taking Ruby for walks. As an early bird and self-proclaimed morning person, she enjoys making the most of her days—although a relaxing pedicure is her favorite way to unwind on a day off. One fun fact about Sara? She wears a size 10 shoe!

What Sara loves most about working at Windy Hollow Veterinary Clinic is the fast-paced environment and the opportunity to be part of a team that works closely together. She hopes every client knows that our staff genuinely supports one another and works as a team to provide the best possible care for every pet who comes through our doors.

Her advice to pet owners is simple:

"Stay up to date on your pet's preventive care and vaccines, and never hesitate to call if you think something may be wrong. We're here to help!"
